Some images from upcoming exhibition 'The Ladies of Colour' by The South Hobart Art Group

The South Hobart Art Group was formed originally in 2000 and used the Bibiani Studios until 2010.
Friendship and word of mouth brought the members together with a desire to express their creativity.
Art is not something that should be reserved for the gifted few - it is what the artists put in themselves that makes their individual efforts original and unique.

I came to the group early in its formation in 2000.  I am also a member of the Colour Circle and have studied under Richard Bacon and various known tutors.  Multi-skilled and versatile, I work with watercolours, pastels, acrylics and china painting.

Leaves intrigue me because of their variety, movement, colour and shape, as well as the patterns they make with each other.

After completing Tafe, I then had a stall at Salamanca Market selling decorated ceramics.  During this time, I attended Adult Ed's painting and drawing classes under Elisabeth Christianson.
On retirement, I was introduced by a friend to the South Hobart  Art Group where I started working with pastels and enjoy working with this medium.

Having experimented with a myriad of artforms, I had the great fortune of being invited to join the South Hobart Art Group and was introduced to the wonderful world of pastels.  I have since discovered that my loved for details is well translated in this medium.
My currently focuses on human anatomy and the simplicity of doing everyday things.
